sexual-sin

24 So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. 25 Then he said: “Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants. He shall be to his brethren.” 26 And he said: “Blessed be the Lord, The God of Shem, And may Canaan be his servant. 27 May God enlarge Japheth, And may he dwell in the tents of Shem; And may Canaan be his servant.” 28 And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. 29 So all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died.

Wow!  Does the punishment fit the crime?  I’m not sure.  The curse of Canaan, son of Ham’s  seems extreme.  There must be more to the story.  In verse 22, Ham saw his father’s nakedness.  This is a reference to incest.  “If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them” (Leviticus 20:11).  Maybe a pregnancy resulted from this act.  Either way, I think something really bad happened, and it was sexually related.  What does this mean?  Sin is sin….right? Yes, and I believe that all sins are forgiven if one repents, however I think this type of act (whatever it was) leads one towards evil.  This ultimately leads to destruction.  There is one who fixes all of this and that’s Jesus! Jesus has the power to forgive all our sins.  It’s up to us.  When we turn our life over to Him, and allow him to guide us, we turn away from the evil of this world.  The definition of repent is to turn away.  Jesus is waiting… all we have to do is ask.  But if you’re not sure or don’t know what to say….just say Jesus!
